| In a time when everything in the real world is shifting to a virtual base online, no is willing to be left behind in the areas of technology and social networking. From being a site merely aimed at connecting people, promotion of products, movies and budding musicians have become common on Facebook. Now even the government and related authorities are making their presence felt online. After the Kochi City Police, its our very own city mayor Tony Chammany who has joined the social networking site in order to reach out to the public and listen to their grievances. And the timing couldn't be more perfect- especially when the city is suffering from severe infrastructural problems like pothole-ridden roads, insufficient lighting, sanitation and hygiene. Fortunately, the honourable mayor has opened up his account in form of a FB Page, which makes it easier for all of us Gallans to immediately connect with him with a simple click on the 'Like' button (Kochi Police, please follow the mayor). Look of mayor Tony Chammany's Facebook Page Unlike most other politicians who create a page and leave it hollow and empty without any updates, Mr. Chammany makes regular updates regarding his day to day activites and public visits on his page. Occasionally he gives us teasers and sneak previews regarding upcoming projects and plans in the city. The best thing is , HE REPLIES and actually supports the Metro Rail project. How much cooler can our Mayor get? So get ready to visit his page and do have a little chit chat with him regarding your views and opinions about the corporation's actions on various issues (IPL is a done deal for now, so no more of that please).
